2.0.2 says compatible with 3.0b5 but it’s not installing

May 13, 2008 Rimas J.

Are you aware that your newest version 2.0.2 is STILL not available on addons.mozilla.org? (For the past several weeks all I get is a download error…)

May 8, 2008 Peter M

When I install 2.02 and go to options, I just get a page about custom titles and nothing else, so I cant see any of the normal Nightly Tester Tool Options. There is nothing about disabling automatic checking and the like.

May 8, 2008 Lukasz G.

NTT Ver. 2.0.2 is not compatible with Thunderbird version 3.0a1pre (2008050803).

May 6, 2008 fuhrysteve

Worked great until the latest update. Now whenever it asks me to Force Install an extension, it does the compatibility check anyhow!

May 6, 2008 toscha42

Still no luck in getting NTT 2.0.2 installed in TB 3.0a1 (20080506039

May 5, 2008 Klaus

NTT 2.0.2. Custom title” ($(Profile)) works now. Thank you!

Hi Joan.

Whenever possible, I store the original program and/or extension so I always have the option to uninstall the update and reinstall the previous version.

Failing that, you might try System Restore.

May 5, 2008 Joan

How do I remove the compatibility of an extension?
I pushed “Override all compatibility” but after some tests I want to restore the original state.

May 5, 2008 Kate

Does this update the Mozilla Archive Format MAF extension so it can be used other than with Firefox 1.5?

The “bumped” version of MAF just opens blank pages with FF 2.0.

May 4, 2008 Virtual_ManPL

Override all compatibly dont work on nightly biulds Fx4.0

FYI, v2.0.1 does not install in a nightly branch build.

Any chance of enabling this for the newest versions of Minefield? The version 4 pre-alpha is available as well, but doesn’t run NTT yet without manual editing.

A big THANK YOU for the latest upgrade, in which you have improved compatibilty enforcing. Can’t wait for firefox 3.0 to test this.

April 24, 2008 toscha42

Sorry, it should read “does *not* succeed”.

April 24, 2008 toscha42

Unfortunately installation of NTT 2.0 does succeed in TB 3.0a1pre (2008042403); em:maxVersion is set to only 3.0a1.

April 24, 2008 Klint

Hi
The extension in version 2.0.0 has marked all my extensions as COMPATIBLE when I turned to the new method of compatibility check bypass. So, there is now no way anymore for me to tell the enabled and compatible extensions from the enabled and uncompatible extensions… which is an extremely useful info in these times where all extensions and FF are moving to newer versions.
How can I go back to the previous situation?
Thanks

April 24, 2008 Japakul

Could you please remove the “Restore from last session…” in the “History” menu because it has no function and it isn’t in the Built without the extension.

April 24, 2008 monk09

In the History - the “Restore from last session” don’t work.
(I found this error in the latest trunk.)

April 18, 2008 Chris Cunningham

Where do bug reports go? There’s a highly annoying issue in recent weeks which I’ve isolated to this extension which results in the Add Bookmarks dialogue popping up the first time the Bookmarks menu is accessed.

Barry-
How I do it is take a quick peek at the source of the page (View->Source) and look for the .xpi file. Then, copy that link and pop it in your address field up top. Voila. Crappy workaround, I know, but it works.

April 11, 2008 mmortal03

A “rollback to previous nightly” feature would be extremely nice (not the last one released, but the last one on your system). It seems as if I am always running into bugs in nightly testing that would have me wanting to go back to the last install that was on my system. Let me know if there is already an extension for this.

April 9, 2008 EntertainYou

Cant work on FX3.0 beta5

update would be appreciated

April 7, 2008 Spacer

So now that Firefox 3.5 is out, how do we install old addons? it seems impossible. A little tut would b beneficial for both, members, and your site.

April 4, 2008 mayou

how to install Minefield/4.0a1pre on Nightly Tester Tools 1.3

NTT to enable them to install after FF3.
And then when you run FF4 NTT is off.
If you normally add-on in turn to work.

April 4, 2008 The Cook

When Nightly Tester Tools Will Be Compatible With “Minefield/4.0a1pre” Please ?

April 3, 2008 BarryM

Is there a way to allow Nightly Tester Tools to override AMO’s new “don’t allow the visitor to install this extension if it is not compatible with this version of Minefield”?

There’s such a narrow window between when the build identifier is compatible with what AMO supports, it means that it’s now very difficult to actually install extensions.

nightly doesn’t take screen shots…what can i do?

March 14, 2008 Ayush

It’ll be useful if you add an option to disable update security check : http://kb.mozillazine.org/Extensions.checkUpdateSecurity

March 12, 2008 Tobu

Re myself, I now see what the preference does.

It should be named “don’t let firefox undo my compatibility changes behind my back”, enabled by default, and not even be a preference.

Giving free usability advice again, no need to thank me :)

March 12, 2008 prismatech

litttel help please can nigty not use with officel firefox3.0 beta 4

March 11, 2008 OD2

I Think Nightly Tester Tools, Need To Allow Install Extensions From Previews Version Of Firefox 2,3. On Every
New Version Of Firefox That Come Out Just Like The “Minefield/4.0a1pre” ! So Far Every Time That I Want To Install Extension On New Version Of Firefox, I Always Downloaded Older Version 2,3 To Install Nightly Tester Tools, Than I Go To The New Version Of Firefox So I Can Run The Extensions With No Problem. That’s Really
Annoying !!! So My Suggestion Is Simple: Add An Option To Nightly Tester Tools That Allow To Install Extension
In Older Version On New Version Of Firefox !!!

March 7, 2008 djluke

Minefield/4.0a1pre compatibility please :)
btw great extesnion!

Extensions:flashblock/java quick starter/operator/personal menu
Nightly tester tools version 1.3
Cannot take screenshot; timer is blocked on 1, crop and save function not working. Can only upload to Imageshack.
System: WXP-h/2SP
How do I get rid of this bug!?
Thanks,

What does “disable compatibility overwriting during application update” mean?

Compatibility of what, why would I want to enable/disable it, why is there a preference to decide…

July 7, 2007 maniii

Im using Nightly Latest trunk builds everyday for the past 5-7 years since the earliest releases of firebird / phoenix ( ;-) anyone remember those days ?? ) I can tell you that there are virtually no fatal bugs in the Nightly builds ( u might lose your bookmarks once in a while ;-D thats up to your backup techniques ) And now I have v1.3b2 NTT installed on Minefield Build 2007070604 version3.0a7pre ..

You can definitely expect gr8 and l33t features in all upcoming Mozzarella Releases !!! This is one explosive package delivered daily !!!
Yay ! Go Moz ! Go Zilla!!

June 29, 2007 Captain Riptide77

I like nightly tesster tools Because it made Image Zoomer 0.2 work again I lost image zoomer 0.2 when firefox Upgraded To 2.0
thanks for this extension!!

June 5, 2007 myahoo

Hi! Working perfectly with Firefox 3.0a5pre :-)

About translation : why don’t you put this extension on BabelZilla?

June 3, 2007 Uncle Spellbinder

Working perfectly in SeaMonkey/2.0a1pre.

Look people, forcing extensions/themes to work is not recommended. It can (and does) cause MANY problems, including hitching, hanging, crashing, memory leakage, weird behaviour, dataloss and more.

NTT is what it says it is, NIGHTLY tester tools. For users of the NIGHTLY builds so they can force extensions/themes to work whilst also testing the latest daily builds of firefox. (People who test nightly builds are much more able to troubleshoot their own problems when caused by extensions forced to work).

If you force extensions/themes to work on versions of firefox/thunderbird/whatever then you are asking for trouble. Big trouble. If you really want that extension/theme to work then you best email the author and get them to update it and test it. NTT is not a magic bullet to suddenly make your incompatible extensions suddenly work.

April 9, 2007 Dmitriy

Please add this future -

Netscape 8.1.3 and 9 support to add&test various extensions for that browser.

Thanks at advance.

Have no problem with 3.0a4pre

March 2, 2007 charles

It works great with 3.0a3pre

February 7, 2007 guidorobben

I love this extension! This extension removes the only annoyance I have ever had with Firefox - that crap of extensions being "incompatible"! Thank you for providing this solution for all of us!

December 31, 2006 equazcion

I get a compatibility error when I try to install this on the latest Thunderbird version, 1.5.0.9. Is this only meant to use on the 2.0b version of Thunderbird?

December 21, 2006 ufo258

ATTN: Seamonkey Users
Use Version 0.7.9.11 available from ‘Version History’ for the Moz App suite!

This will work with the latest (alpha / beta / rc) version of SeaMonkey…

December 21, 2006 Captain Riptide77

This extension Is great thanks to this extension the LCARS star Trek theme works and it said it was only for seamonkey but it worked
so if theres any Star trek fans out there try this extension
because you can set the options so the compatibility checker is off
that mean even seamonkeys themes will work
signed a greatfull star trek fan

December 20, 2006 TripperNX

Thank you for this extension. Finally some crucial add-ons work with 2.0

December 20, 2006 Night Terror

THANK YOU! ^_^

I can finally use my favorite theme in FX2!

December 18, 2006 captain riptide77

I love this tool. with this tool even seamonkeys star trek theme works on Firefox 2.0. love this tool. I from 1-100 I give this tool a 100

December 16, 2006 Patrick

It installed just fine in the 12/16/06 3.0 a1 (Minefield) release for Mac OS X Tiger, but the Tools->Nightly Tester Tools option menu was missing, and the Tools->Add-ons->Extensions->Nightly Tester Tools Preferences window failed to launch when clicked. However, other extensions preference menus would launch leading me to believe it’s just this one.

Overall though, I loved it in past versions. A new installation from today works just fine in the latest stable build (2006101022, wasn’t it?) for Mac OS X Tiger.

December 4, 2006 matt

Sunbird 0.4a1 works with the new version of the nightly tester tools extension.

December 3, 2006 Michael Savoy

I’m very pleased to say that I’ve re-acquired the most wonderful ability at making the seemingly incompatible compatible for Firefox 2.0’s most current up-to-date release Joy! Rapture!

November 30, 2006 John

I tried it whit HalloFF

https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/3522/

and it didn’t work very well… :( however it indeed forced it to run!!! :)

it’s very sad that some extensions stop being suported each time a new firefox gets out… this extensions tries to fix that problem… you’re on the good path… but indeed it could be a lot better and fix all the incompatibility problems…

keep up the good work :)

(i only tried it whit HalloFF theme!!! it may work whit other themes and extensions)

November 28, 2006 asonze

i use autoform and since i upgadre firefox it stop working, with this it works again :) very nice tool _o_

thanks

November 25, 2006 GBR_BIOHAZARD

Awesome! I tried to mod the Greenshift theme to work with v2 but couldn’t get the max version number to stick. I downloaded Nightly Tester tools and 2 clicks later my favorite theme was back. Thanks mate, Brilliant!

November 23, 2006 Matt

Could you add support for Sunbird. It would be much appreciated.

November 23, 2006 xavier

In principle, these tools look brilliant, avoiding the over-pickiness of installing Ffx extensions.
But ….. the extension does not install completely. The Nightly Tester Tools sub-menu and the build identifier buttons are visible/available, but nothing has been added to the Ffx extensions installer. So I still cannot install extensions not built for Ffx 2.0. Help would be appreciated ^_^

November 23, 2006 Aaron

I really miss the ability to selectively enable/disable the version compatibility check for extensions. With the new 1.2 version, it is now installing every extension I try without even informing me that there might be a problem. When I first installed NTT 1.2 and enabled the feature, ALL of my disabled extensions were enabled — breaking the install. It is much more productive to selectively enable them as necessary. Please either bring back the checkbox or pop up a warning for each incompatible extension being enabled.

November 22, 2006 Casey

Use this to enable Session Manager in Firefox 2.0! I would think twice about upgrading if it weren’t for this easy way to activate old extensions.

Sailor Dark, try removing extensions.rdf from your profile dir (http://www.mozilla.org/support/firefox/edit#profile)

November 22, 2006 Dark

thats acool ver :D

November 21, 2006 ~vjay~

I love this plugin, it makes some of my favourite firefox plugins that haven’t been updated for FF2.0 work wonderfully.

Keep up the great work.

November 20, 2006 rianvanu

I love this tool, all my plugins works on Firefox 2.0.

Thanks for development.

November 17, 2006 d2i

nope, didn’t work ;-)

November 15, 2006 Jon

Am trying to install it for the latest build of Thunderbird, but it’s not compatible. Hope you update it soon.

November 10, 2006 Dave

This extension used to be able to override compatability on the extension download dialog, now its turned on/off via extension preferences. Can you put the old method back in ?

November 10, 2006 Roberto

Muito bom essa extenso!
Podem baixar que eu garanto, legal mesmo!

November 10, 2006 BigBonelessJerk

thanks for your work, this makes everything easier!!

November 5, 2006 matt

Ever thought of adding Sunbird support?

November 3, 2006 Thyme Cypher

Couldn’t use 3.0a1 without it :D~. Baa.

November 1, 2006 Shawn

Nevermind the last comment. The Version history explains the issue. However I might suggest rewording the language in the options menu "Disable add-on compatibility checking" is much less concise than "allow all incompatible extensions".

November 1, 2006 Shawn

I am running FireFox 2.0 and for a couple weeks Nightly Tester Tools worked always giving the option to use it to force download/installation of themes and extensions. Suddenly today, I am no longer given the option to download anything using Nightly Tester Tools to force the download. Anybody else see this?

November 1, 2006 RenegadeX

Hey just wondering why and when your extensions were removed from AMO?
