I attended a bird of prey photography workshop with my photography club over the weekend which was a fantastic experience. We got to photograph the birds both in static poses and flying, though the birds were a little uncooperative when it came to trying to get them to fly where we wanted! The falconer was great and more than willing to put the birds in the positions we requested so we could get the best photos.
I have so many great pictures from the day, far more than I would normally take home from just three hours, but this one stood out as the best. I was really photographing this barn owl flying but as I was shooting in burst and tracking I caught one of it coming in to land on the falconer’s glove. I love seeing the talons reaching out to grab on.
